New Spare hardware process

In order to streamline our processes and expedite service to our customers, we are making the following change to the Hardware Maintenance (Spare in the Air) program.

Spare in the Air forms will no longer be required. Please call the Bridgestone Commercial Solutions toll free number at 800-523-6366, choose option 2, and then option 1 for BASys Manufacturing support. A technical support representative will verify the problem and gather the required device configuration information. In order to expedite the process, please try to have the model number of the problem device when you call.

 As a reminder, the following guidelines are still in place

  • Shipping
    • Requests received after 3:00 EST may not ship the same day
    • There are no charges for regular ground shipments of the replacement device. This takes 1 to 5 days depending on the distance from Maryland. Requests for overnight, 2nd day, or 3 day select shipment methods which will be charged back to the customer
    • You may request return of the original equipment after repair. Additional labor charges may apply for cleaning of loaner units.
    • A UPS call tag will be issued to facilitate return of the defective device. Items not received after 2 weeks will be invoiced for the cost of replacing the device
    • Please use the packaging sent with the replacement device to package the defective device and have it ready for UPS pickup.

Motorola MC55 End of Sale

Effective immediately, the Motorola MC55 Mobile Computer is no longer available. Motorola has transitioned to the MC55A, and we are now shipping this device. There have been several changes to the operating system and hardware including a brighter VGA screen, faster processor, more memory, and better rugged specifications. If you are in the market for a new handheld device, please contact us for your options.

Symbol MC70 End of Sale

Effective immediately, the Motorola/Symbol MC70 handheld is no longer available. Motorola has transitioned to the MC75A. There have been several changes to the operating system and hardware, and we are currently evaluating this device for software compatability. If you are in the market for a new handheld device, please contact us for your options.

Symbol AP4131 End of Service

Sale of the Symbol Ap4131 Access Point was discontinued years ago. The ability to repair this model will be coming to an end in 2011. This means we will no longer be able to support it in our hardware maintenance program. These devices do not fail often, but when they do it can create disruption to your business. We recommend replacing this wireless infrastruction in 2011.

Symbol PDT6846 End of Service

The Symbol PDT6846 shop handheld device has been a workhorse over the years. Sale of this device was discontinued years ago. The ability to repair this model will be coming to an end in 2011. This means we will no longer be able to support it in our hardware maintenance program. Please consider this as you plan ahead.

The replacement device is the MC9090G

Revised barcode labels

We are starting to roll out the revised barcode labels. As we deplete the remaining inventory of the existing product, you will start to see shipments of the revised labels. Please contact Shannon at 410-712-9025 if you have questions.

WS2000 Discontinued

The Symbol WS2000 Wireless Switch has been discontinued. We can no longer provide this device or the AP300 Access Port. Please contact us if you are in need of a wireless infrastructure solution.
